The photozine features twenty-four black and white portraits taken between December 1982 and July 2026 on 35 mm analog film. The zine unfolds to form a circle reminiscent of a slide carousel.
Who’s looking at who?
A portrait happens in the fleeting moment when two gazes meet — the subject’s, and reciprocally, the photographer’s.
This small book comes as a revelation half a lifetime in the making. Initially drawn to the emotional power of certain photographs, the author gradually becomes aware of a deeper motivation: to better understand himself through the gazes captured in his viewfinder.
The photozine can be seen as a house of mirrors in which every frame represents both an opening and a new facet of the photographer’s true self.
