A carousel zine
The photozine features twenty-four black and white portraits taken between December 1982 and July 2026 on 35 mm analog film. The zine unfolds to form a circle reminiscent of a slide carousel.
Who’s looking at who?
A portrait happens in the fleeting moment when two gazes meet — the subject’s, and reciprocally, the photographer’s.
This small book comes as a revelation half a lifetime in the making. The author, initially drawn to the powerful emotional content of photography, gradually becomes aware of a deeper motivation: to better see himself through the eyes of the people he photographs.
The photozine can be seen as a house of mirrors where each photograph represents both an opening onto the world and a new facet of the photographer’s identity.
